Diabetes Association of Atlanta (DAA) seeks to improve the quality of life of the diabetic population in metro Atlanta through screening detection education and enhancement of service delivery by coordinating service providers and other community resources. DAA is an United Way member of metro Atlanta. DAA serves all ages but does concentrate on adults. Children's Medical Services serves children with diabetes who meet the federal guidelines for financial need. Medical Assistance Program (MAP) awardees must meet federal poverty guidelines and be turned down from all other agencies. Call and ask for services. For MAP go through the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and make an application. Must be turned down in writing for DFCS's services. Services will be provided only if money/funds are available. | |
