Atlanta Champions serves the needs of people with disabilities by providing trained service hearing and social dogs and by providing continuing support to ensure the success of the work team. Must be financially responsible to care for and maintain the animal with shelter food and medical costs. Must be able to pay for training costs and expenses while at the Canine Companions for Independence (CIC) Training Center. Centers located in New York Ohio and California. Serves all disabilities except visually impaired and blind. Send a letter to the training center nearest you requesting an application. The letter should describe you your disability how it affects you and what you hope a canine companion will do for you. CCI will require an application to be completed. Complete the application answering questions about your disability your home environment and medical history. CCI will contact you within four to six weeks of receipt of application.
