Babies Early Growth Intervention Network (BEGIN) is a family education and support program administered by the Center for the Visually Impaired. It is designed to provide information emotional support and guidance for parents and to provide growth and stimulating activities to their visually impaired child. BEGIN provides periodic home visits assessments of functional vision growth vision stimulation activities preschool classes activities for parents and child and parent support meetings. Important adjuncts to the basic parent-child program are the following: newsletter consultation and training for professional service providers including other infant programs and seminars. Call and complete application for services. Intake visit made by staff followed by an assessment of needs and implementation of services.
