Assistive Technology and Adapted Recreation: A Perfect Match |
Type |
Webinar |
Description |
When charged with the task of thinking of how assistive technology can benefit a person with a disability, we often focus on educational and job environments and goals. Social and recreational activities benefits each one of us as we are working towards our best life outcomes. However, for people with disabilities inclusion in recreation and adapted sports can be difficult or even nonexistent when assistive technology and accommodations are not taken into consideration. This webinar will highlight programs that specialize in adapted recreation. We will also focus on the ways assistive technology coupled with adapted recreation can help to "level out the playing field". Join us as we engage in discussion on how participation in play, recreation and adaptive sports can have profound impacts on the overall growth and development of people with disabilities, leading to improved skills and comprehension in other areas of life including education and at work. |
