In this presentation we will provide an overview and introduction to environmental controls and how they assist someone with a disability to maintain or regain their independence by being able to control their environment. An environmental control device is a form of electronic assistive technology which enables people with significant disabilities to independently access equipment in their environment e.g. home, classroom and/or office.

After this presentation, individuals will be able to share information bout various environmental controls, give examples/scenarios of using environmental control in various settings and demonstrate environmental control solutions.
